Asher comes home in 11th Place at Silverstone despite engine failure x2‏

Silverstone Race Report

8th Octotber 2013

"After a Difficult weekend, it ended up being one of my best races!"

The weekend started well with Fridays wet practice sessions.  And in FP2 with 4 minutes to go Asher was in P6 overall, ending the session in P10.  Little did we know at the time the engine was not working properly.

With the extra stress being put on the engine, in the dry, it finally failed in Q2, 4 laps from the end of the session.  Confident in morning Warm-up Asher only managed a lap and a half before the engine again gave up the ghost.  This time completely destroying the cylinder.

We kept our fingers crossed and hoped for a good start!

"I love the fast flowing GP style of Silverstone, but not being able to qualify properly, I knew I had a tough race ahead, but also the pace to run with those way ahead of me on the grid.  The race was fantastic and to finish 11th from 20th on the grid was a great result."

We now look ahead to the the Red Bull Rookies selection next week in Spain

"I would just like to thank all those that came along to help and support me especially Danuiel, John Hambley & family, Uncle Pete & Sadie, Alan Roberts, Sara Hampshire, Chris & Karen & the girls, Craig, Lisa & Bran.  Also all my Sponsors as without them I couldnt race.
